Frequently asked

Questions, answered plainly

Yu is a new restaurant, so some answers are still "not yet". Where that is the case, we have said so rather than guessed.

Opening and location

Is Yu by Si Jie open?

Yes. Yu began its soft opening on August 7, 2026 and is now open. A soft opening is a limited first period of service — usually a shorter menu and fewer covers — used to test the kitchen and the room under real conditions before opening fully.

Where is Yu by Si Jie located?

The restaurant is at 400 South Rampart Boulevard, Suite 190, Las Vegas, Nevada 89145, in the Rampart corridor of west Las Vegas.

What are your opening hours?

Service times are still being finalised and will be published here shortly. In the meantime, the times we have released appear on the reservations page as they open.

The restaurant

Who is behind Yu by Si Jie?

Yu was founded by Si Jie, known to her guests as Amy. She has more than twenty years of restaurant experience and built Special Noodle into a recognised brand in Northern California. Read the full story.

Is Yu related to Special Noodle?

Yes — both are Si Jie's. Special Noodle began in Northern California and has since reached Austin and Las Vegas. Yu is a separate brand rather than a new Special Noodle location: where Special Noodle is a bowl you return to weekly, Yu is built for the evening you book in advance.

What does the character 御 mean?

御 (yù) is the classical Chinese character for what was prepared for the imperial table. It describes a standard of care in the kitchen rather than a style of cooking — which is exactly why it was chosen.

Food and menu

What kind of food does Yu serve?

Chinese cuisine prepared with fine-dining technique: seafood cooked to order, hard-fire wok cooking, broths built over hours, hand-made dim sum, and small desserts to close. The cuisine page explains how the kitchen works, and the gallery shows the plates.

Can I see the menu and prices?

Not yet. The full menu and pricing will be published here shortly. The photographs on this site are work from our kitchen — they show how we cook and plate, but they are not a menu, and the selection changes with the season.

Can you accommodate allergies or dietary requirements?

Please put any allergy or dietary requirement in the notes field when you request a table. The team will review it and reply to confirm what the kitchen can do for your booking — we would rather answer honestly in advance than improvise on the night.
